Tips for focusing on your health and fitness in November

Women running in the city

As we transition into the beautiful month of November, it's Important to remember that our health and well-being should remain a top priority. With the holiday season just around the corner, it's the perfect time to focus on self-care, fitness, and community to ensure we stay active and healthy throughout this festive period.

Here are some ways you can prioritize your health and fitness in November:

Tip #1 - Set Realistic Goals

Start by setting achievable health and fitness goals for the month. Whether it's committing to a certain number of workouts per week or trying a new healthy recipe, having clear goals will help you stay on track.

Consistency should always be a first priority.

Tip #2 -Stay Active

Embrace the crisp fall weather by going for outdoor walks or hikes. Alternatively, consider indoor workouts like body weight workouts or home exercises to keep your body moving.

Tip #3 - Nutrition Matters for health and fitness

Make mindful food choices. Easier said that done, believe me I know. However, try to enjoy the seasonal fruits and vegetables that November has to offer, and try to limit binge eating holiday treats. I'm talking to myself too because Turkey and my dad's gravy are cryptonite.

Tip #4 - Celebrate Achievements

Recognize and celebrate your accomplishments girl, no matter how small. Small victories are essential for long-term success. This is something that I really had to learn for myself. Small steps lead to big leaps.

Tip #5 - Mental Health

Remember that health isn't just about the body; it's also about the mind. Take time for self-care and relaxation. For me that's actually running a few miles. Please don't judge me ha. Anyway, consider practices like meditation or mindfulness, listening to music, or an "oldie but goodie" movie to reduce stress.

Show up, Do your best, Get it done

I encourage you to join me in making November a month dedicated to prioritizing health and fitness. Together, we can support each other in staying healthy and strong as we approach the holiday season. Oh and don't forget to RSVP for our Turkey Trot here. It's going to be an amazing virtual 5k event.
